These terms govern your use of MotorMath, including this website and its tools. By accessing the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.
These Terms are a legally binding agreement between you and Brightscale Labs Limited (Company No. 16990009, England and Wales). Last updated: 2026-05-18.
Educational use only
MotorMath tools are provided for informational and educational use only. Outputs do not constitute vehicle, mechanical, repair, safety, insurance, financing, or purchase advice. Results are mathematical estimates and should not be treated as a recommendation, diagnosis, or substitute for consultation with a qualified mechanic or vehicle professional.
Acceptable use
Misuse of the site is prohibited. This includes scraping at volume, attempting to disrupt service, using the tools for unlawful activity, or misleading others. Automated access placing undue load may be rate-limited or blocked. Linking to MotorMath is permitted.
Intellectual property
The site design, tool descriptions, methodology notes, and compiled formula explanations are owned by Brightscale Labs Limited or used under licence. Mathematical formulas themselves are public knowledge and not claimed as our intellectual property — primary sources are attributed on each tool page where applicable.
Limitation of liability and indemnity
General limitation: The service is provided free of charge. To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of England and Wales, Brightscale Labs Limited shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including loss of profits, injury arising from vehicle decisions, repair costs, data loss, or other losses resulting from:
- Your use or inability to use the calculators;
- Any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in calculator outputs;
- Vehicle, mechanical, financial, or insurance decisions made or taken by you in reliance on the information provided;
- Unauthorised access to or alteration of your transmissions or data;
- Any content or conduct of any third party on the service.
Financial cap: The Company's total aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of: (a) fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim; or (b) £50.00 GBP.
Indemnity: You agree to indemnify Brightscale Labs Limited from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your misuse of the service, your violation of these Terms, or any third-party claim that your use of the service caused them loss.
Legal exceptions: Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by the laws of England and Wales.
Third-party services
Some features may use third-party services (Cloudflare for hosting and security; Google AdSense and Google Analytics if enabled later). Their terms and privacy practices also apply.
No professional relationship
Use of MotorMath does not create a mechanical, automotive-consulting, financial, or other professional relationship between you and Brightscale Labs Limited.
Changes
We may update these terms. Changes will be posted here with the "Last updated" date revised. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
