Who we are

Brightscale Labs Limited operates motormath.com. Registered in England and Wales, Company No. 16990009. Registered office: 8 Flay Field, Tithebarn, Exeter, England, EX1 3YA.

How our tools work

All calculators run entirely in your browser. There is no sign-up. We do not send your inputs (vehicle price, MPG, mileage, loan terms, charging rates) to our servers. Exports are created on your device.

What we collect

We do not collect or store your IP address. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may process IP addresses and basic device/browser data as part of delivering pages, providing security, and serving content under their own privacy policy — we do not have access to this data.

• Strictly necessary cookies: Cloudflare security/load-balancing only. Cannot be disabled.
• Functional local storage: stored on your device only, never transmitted to us.
  • mm-theme — your light/dark/system choice.
  • motormath-settings — your display currency.
  • mm-recent — the last 8 calculators you opened (names and links only, never any figure you entered).
  • mm-compare:<tool> — scenarios you saved with the Compare button, so a refresh doesn't discard them. These contain the figures you typed into that calculator, which on a few tools includes income. They stay on this device; nothing is sent to us. Use the button below, or your browser's "clear site data", to remove them.
  • euconsent-v2, IABGPP_HDR_GppString, usprivacy — your advertising and analytics consent choices, set by our consent management platform (InMobi Choice) and kept for up to 13 months so you are not asked again on every visit.
• Anonymous usage measurement: when you use a calculator we send one request recording which tool it was, whether you changed any input from its default, how long the page was open, the referring site, your timezone offset, viewport size and theme. It contains no cookie, no identifier, no IP address, and never the figures you enter or the result. It cannot be linked to you or to any other visit.
• Optional analytics — Microsoft Clarity, only if you consent: Clarity records heatmaps and a replay of your visit (clicks, scrolling, page transitions) so we can see where a calculator confuses people. It runs only after you consent through the InMobi Choice consent message; decline or ignore it and no Clarity script ever loads.

  When it does run, the entire calculator is masked before recording: the figures you type, the result, the plain-English summary and any saved Compare scenarios are replaced with placeholder characters, so income and every other number you enter stay on your device. Clarity receives the page you were on, your interactions, and coarse device/browser data, and processes it as an independent controller under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. You can review or withdraw consent at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer.

• Other third-party analytics: none. No Google Analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising SDKs.
• Advertising: not currently enabled. If enabled later (Google AdSense), it will only run after consent.

Clear what's stored on this device

This removes every key MotorMath has written to this browser: your theme, your currency, your recently-viewed list, any saved Compare scenarios, and your analytics choice. It cannot remove anything from our servers, because none of it was ever sent there.

To withdraw consent, use the Cookie preferenceslink in the footer, which reopens the InMobi Choice consent message so you can change your choices. Set analytics to off and Microsoft Clarity stays off. Cookies Clarity has already set (_clck, _clsk) are removed by clearing cookies for this site in your browser.

Data sharing

• Hosting: Cloudflare (CDN, security) — always on.
• Anonymous usage measurement: Cloudflare Workers + D1, operated by us. Not shared with third parties.
• Optional analytics: Microsoft Clarity — only for visitors who consent through the InMobi Choice consent message, and never the figures entered into a calculator.
• Advertising: Google AdSense — not currently enabled.

We do not sell your data.

International transfers

Where processors operate globally, transfers outside the UK/EEA rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards required by UK and EU data-protection law.

Retention

Anonymous usage records retained up to 14 months. Because they contain no identifier, they cannot be traced back to an individual and are not personal data. Email correspondence retained up to 24 months. Cloudflare retains connection metadata under its own policy. Microsoft Clarity recordings and heatmaps — created only for visitors who accepted analytics — are retained by Microsoft on its own schedule, which we do not control; see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
