About MotorMath

MotorMath is a free, pure-math car-calculator platform operated by Brightscale Labs Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 16990009). Every tool is a single math function: enter values, see a result. No store, no quotes, no insurance leads.

What we do

We publish car calculators covering total cost of ownership, EV vs ICE comparison, performance estimation, fuel economy conversion, loan and lease analysis, and practical journey planning. Each tool shows the formula and links to its primary source. The platform is built for education and illustration; we do not provide vehicle, mechanical, or financial advice.

Why we built this

Most car calculators online are inside dealership sites or insurance lead-generation funnels. They tend to be slow, ad-heavy, and shaped to push a product. MotorMath is the opposite: every page is a calculator first, loads fast, works on mobile, and never pushes a product through the calculation flow.

How formulas are sourced

Every calculator uses a published formula or industry-standard approximation. Acceleration estimates (Hales 0-60, Huntington quarter-mile trap), braking distance (kinetic-energy braking with reaction-distance addition), Coggan-style power calculations, and standard loan amortisation come from references that this site cites where applicable. Where a formula has known limitations, the tool page says so.

Pure-math principle

MotorMath tools take only inputs you supply. We do not embed government data (tax rates, road tax bands, vehicle inspection requirements), do not embed real-time prices (fuel, electricity), and do not include lender rate tables. Everything is a math function: you supply prices, fuel economy, rates, and the tool computes. This keeps the site jurisdiction-neutral and removes the annual-update burden that makes most calculator sites stale within months.
